We buy, sell, and trade tropical records and cassette tapes from Asia, Africa, Latin-America & The Caribbean. New titles are added weekly.
As a large part of what we sell is Thai, and not all we have in stock will be listed on the website, feel free to let us know if you are searching for any particular titles.
** All images and sound clips on the website are taken from the actual items being sold **
Records are conservatively graded following the Goldmine Grading Standard:
Mint (M) – Flawless. No needle has ever touched this record or the record is still sealed in its sleeve.
Sleeve is also perfect in every way, or still sealed.
Near Mint (NM) – The record has hardly been played and spent most of its time on the shelf. The vinyl looks glossy with no marks and the whole package is complete.
Sleeve is almost as new with only very slight signs of wear acceptable.
Very Good Plus (VG+) – A few signs of it being played is fine, but nothing that really compromises the record visually or audibly.
A few visible, non-audible marks, a little background crackle.
Sleeve is clean but may have small writing or marks and will show some wear. Might has some light ring-wear, discoloration or staining, wear along the seams, and/or minor splits or tears (nothing over 1
inch), or indentations in the sleeve. Corners can have creases or
fraying and bumps, and spine may have wear.
Very Good (VG) – Record has been enjoyed but is still usable. Light pops and cracks, light visible marks/lines/scratches.
You can still very much enjoy the record.
Sleeve is worn and used. With seam splits or tape along seams. Can have some more
ring-wear, but the artwork is still nice and visible. Some more staining
or discoloration and there may be larger writing, labels, or marks.
Corners may have damage or creases and there may be scratches or gouges
that otherwise damage the artwork. Might have light water damage.
Good (G+) – the record can be played through without skipping but it plays with obvious noise.
Has serious ring-wear, lots of writing, obvious damage due to tape or stickers being peeled, or significant water damage. Seams are fully split. Artwork of sleeve is no longer nice to look at.
Poor (P) / Fair (F) Plays with loud pops, has skips and a lot of visible groove wear /
The record is cracked, has a bad warp and has deep scratches.
